Mulroy Academy continue to head up the standings in the Donegal Women’s League Arena 7 Under-16 League, but Lagan Harps and Finn Valley remain in hot pursuit.
Mulroy Academy 3-0 Kilmacrennan
This game was played in Triagh-A-Locha this week.
Kilmacrennan stated the better of the two teams creating good opportunities early in the first half.
Ciara McGarvey for Kilmacrennan was creating good opportunities with Dearbhla McDevitt for Mulroy playing well against her.
Mulroy started to get into the game later in the first half with Lauren Carr playing excellent for the home side.
Lauren McBride kept her composure well in front of goal to give Mulroy the lead and it was 1-0 at half-time.
The second half saw Mulroy starting to dominate getting the ball down and passing it well through the middle of the field.
Mulroy scored a further two goals in the second half, one from Caoimhne Heron and the other form Lauren McBride.
It was a good team performance from Kilmacrennan with Ciara McGarvey and Mollie Page playing well.
A hard fought battle from the Mulroy side and a good team performance with Lauren Carr, Lauren McBride and Caoimhne Heron playing well on the night.
Bonagee United 1 Swilly Rovers 3
Swilly Rovers started the game well in the first half and kept the pressure on Bonagee’s defence and got their first goal of the game through Orlaith Connolly after 15 minutes.
Chloe Moore got the second soon after for Swilly with a shot from outside the box. The Bonagee ‘keeper was unlucky as it just fell through her hands.
Bonagee had good play in the first half through Naomi Joel and Caoimhe Kelly.
In the secnd half Bonagee started the better with Caoimhe Kelly breaking through on goal to make it 1-2.
Danielle Hynd stuck from outside the box and took a deflection and beat Emma Dothery in goal and it was 1-3 to Swilly.
It a great game to watch and both teams played well.
Best for Bonagee were Caitlin Hume and Caoimhe Kelly. Best for Swilly were Danielle Hynd and Aishling Irwin
Lagan Harps 9 Finn Valley 4
Both teams were wearing new gear for this encounter at Orchard Park on Sunday evening.
Lagan (pictured above) dominated the first half with goals from Bronagh Gallagher (2), Paula Velles (2) and Jessica Leese (2).
The Finn Valley side came out more determined in the second half with Ridhcheall Doherty scoring two from corners by Danielle McGinley.
Jessica Leese got her hat trick after a long ball from Brenna Dunn and ran clear of the defenders to finish well.
Finn Valley were dangerous from corners and a third corner saw the ball deflect from a Lagan defender to go into the net.
Bronagh Gallagher got two further goals near the end before Gemma Bradley wrapped with the scoring for Finn Valley.
