LIAM MARTIN IS on his way back to Sligo Rovers.
The Donegal town native played the last two years in the Irish League with Ballinamallard FC after making his initial breakthrough at Sligo, where he was first part of the Showgrounds’ outfit in 2011 on a scholarship in conjunction with IT Sligo.
Martin, who is 21 and can play wide midfield or up front, debuted for Rovers in 2011 and in all, played 18 times for the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division side.
In 2011, Martin, formerly of Donegal Town FC, won an FAI Cup winners’ medal having been an unused substitute in the penalty shoot-out out win over Shelbourne at the Aviva Stadium.
