A 4-0 win over Gibraltar got the Republic of Ireland’s Euro 2016 dreams back on track in Portugal last night.
With the match moved to Faro, it gave an opportunity for Irish supporters to enjoy some fun in the sun in Albufeira around the fixture, which saw Cyrus Christie, a Robbie Keane brace and a Shane Long goal move Ireland up to third place in Group 4.
Following Scotland’s 1-0 loss against Georgia in Tbilisi, Martin O’Neill’s side are right back in the mix with a home fixture at the Aviva Stadium against the Georgians on Monday before October’s daunting double-header – Germany in Dublin on Thursday, October 8, and Poland away in Warsaw three days later.
As usual, there was a huge travelling support from Donegal, with Malachy Gormley from Letterkenny pictured above with Peggy Duffy from Castlefin and Charlene Anderson from Killygordon.
