DONEGAL SPORT HUB will be live-blogging from the Race this Saturday and we’re looking for your help.
Ireland’s first 24-hour endurance event gets underway for its third staging at Gartan Outdoor Education Training Centre at 5am and competitors have to complete the the 250km circuit in 24 hours.
Here on Donegal Sport Hub, we’ll be keeping you up to date with the action in conjunction with the Race team, who will be stationed at Gartan but will have contributors throughout the course.
We’ll have a live blog on these pages and there will be regular updates from the Race team on their official Facebook and Twitter platforms. Give @DonegalSportHub and @TheRace_ie a follow on Twitter.
If you’d like to get involved, please tweet photos, videos from the course using the hashtag #therace2016 – or even if you’re looking to see how someone you know is getting on, don’t hesitate to ask.
“It’s the first time we’ve decided to live blog the Race and are going to be working with Donegal Sport Hub,” Race director David Burns said. “We’ve a GPS system this year so you can follow the competitors from afar so the use of this and the live blog can give people a real feel for the event if they can’t make it to Donegal. And if they have, please tweet us anything from the course so we can keep everyone updated.”
