DONEGAL SPORT HUB was well-represented at the 2016 Realex Payments Web Awards at the Liberty Hall Theatre in Dublin tonight.
In the Best Sports News site category, Donegal Sport Hub – the only local nomination – made the final shortlist alongside heavyweights balls.ie, sportsjoe.ie, backpagefootball.com, sportsnewsireland.com, boxingnewsandviews.com and extratime.ie. The award was won by balls.ie.

“One of the most tightly contested categories of the night,” said MC for the night, Rick O’Shea of 2FM said.

“For us to have been nominated alongside some of Ireland’s top sports sites after such a short time in existence is amazing. We’ll continue to keep doing what we’re doing.”
Donegal Sport Hub, which was launched in July 2015 by Chris McNulty, Charlie Collins and Alan Foley, is a sports website dedicated to Donegal. In that time they have had over 3,000,000 page impressions from 600,000 unique users.
The site works off platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, SoundCloud and Google Plus to produce rolling sports news as well as innovative local sports coverage by means of roadshows, weekly podcasts and video highlights of the Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure Donegal SFC in association with Brendan ‘Bradas’ O’Donnell from Jacksonsmediatv.
