PAUL MCLAUGHLIN from Burnfoot this week took charge of the Uefa Youth League clash of Celtic and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Yesterday’s Group C clash in the Under-19 competition was played at Cappielow Park in Greenock and finished in a 1-1 draw.
[adrotate group=”85″]Whilst on duty, McLaughlin, who played Gaelic football with Burt, met former Donegal manager Jim McGuinness, who currently works with the Celtic FC development squad.
McLaughlin, whose home club is Aileach FC, has been officiating at League of Ireland level since 2008. Last season he won the PFAI Referee of the Year award.
McLaughlin holds a FIFA badge and has been involved in games at Champions League and international level
