DONEGAL duo Liam Walsh and Brendan McLaughlin helped Institute to a second successive win yesterday.
‘Stute, now under the management of Brian Donaghey, defeated Dundeala at The Brandywell and they have won their last two Irish League Championship games.
Walsh fired Institute in front on 31 minutes, netting a rebound after his penalty was saved.
A minute from the end, McLaughlin (pictured) fired in a second.
Dundela did pull one back in the 93rd minute, courtesy of Kyle Owens, but it was too little, too late.
Joel Bradley-Walsh, following his loan move from Finn Harps, made his Institute debut with Donegal men Dylan Doherty, Oran Brogan and Shaun Doherty also included in the XI and Joel Gorman came in as a late substitute.
Killea man Keenan Diver was the goalscorer as Dergview drew 1-1 with Ards in the Championship. Diver’s goal earned Tommy Canning’s men a point after Ards went in front.
The Dergview side also included Diver’s fellow former Finn Harps players Tom McDermott, Kieran Farren, Lee McLaughlin, Niall McGinley and Benny Igieheon as well as Inishowen man Cathal Farren.
Ex-Harps men Pat Loughrey and Jamie Browne were on the bench alongside Letterkenny man Ryan McConnell.
Also in the Championship, BJ Banda scored a penalty as Ballinamallard lost 2-1 to H&W Welders.
