The Donegal Masters will have to navigate a replay with Dublin to see who advances to the All-Ireland Masters final.
Donegal 0-14 Dublin 2-8
Donegal looked down and out as they trailed 2-4 to 0-5 at half-time, with Eoin Bennis and Ciaran McGuinness netting the goals in the first period for the Dubs.
Michael Ward almost had a Donegal goal late in the first half, but he riffled just over the top before he struck the crossbar soon after.
Ward and Paul McGonigle – Declan Bonner’s assistant with the Donegal senior team – brought Donegal closer and the Tir Chonaill men were on level pegging as Gerard McGrenra, John McFadden, Adrian McColgan and Ward all scored points.
Dublin moved two in front again, but McGonigle brought Donegal back within the minimum before Ward drew Donegal level with a free.
Donegal could – and should – have won it late on, but were guilty of some bad misses and have to go again next weekend.
