Donegal’s Masters were denied by Dublin in the All-Ireland Masters semi-final replay in Cavan.
Donegal 1-9 Dublin 0-13
Gerard McGrenra netted a late goal, but it wasn’t enough for Val Murray’s Donegal as they bowed out following a one-point defeat.
Donegal had led 0-5 to 0-4 at half-time.
Three Michael Ward points and scores from Paul McGonigle and McGrenra had Donegal in front at the changeover.
Ray Cosgrove, who had helped sink Donegal in a 2002 All-Ireland quarter-final, hit three second half points for the Dubs, who began to inch away in the second half.
Niall Crossan kicked seven frees for Dublin in all and, while Donegal did get a late goal when McGrenra batted home, it wasn’t to be.
