The St. Patrick’s Links, Donegal’s newest links course at Rosapenna Golf Resort, has been ranked as number 55 in the world.
Golf.com announced the World’s Top 100 Golf Courses, with Patrick’s Links coming in as the highest new entry.
The course was the first design in Ireland by noted architect Tom Doak with lead associate Eric Iverson.
The Rosapenna Golf Resort acquired the St Patrick’s Links in late 2012, a former 36-hole facility developed by the Walsh Family of Carrigart. The sprawling links was transformed into 18 unrecognisable and unforgettable holes over the same tract of land along the Sheephaven Bay.
The course was funded through a partnership between The Casey Family, who have owned & operated Rosapenna for over four decades, and Tom Doak of Renaissance Golf Design.
The team at Rosapenna announced the news of their world-ranking last night and said: “A huge congratulations to Tom Doak, the lead associate Eric Iverson & team on such a monumental achievement.”
Four Irish courses made the list for 2021-22, with Ballybunion, Lahinch and Portmarnock all returning to the ranking.
The St Patrick’s Links is now officially open for visitor play (reopens after a winter closure from April 15th for the 2022 season).
