WHILE DONEGAL officials are remaining tight-lipped, it is believed that an appeal against Neil McGee’s red card against Fermanagh is to be lodged with the Ulster Council.
Donegal have until tomorrow afternoon to appeal the sending off of the full-back late in the first half of Sunday’s Ulster SFC quarter-final against Fermanagh.
Donegal chiefs were in talks about their options, but Donegal Sport Hub understands that both McGee and the Donegal manager, Rory Gallagher, are keen to lodge an appeal.
The red card meant that the Gaoth Dobhair man was looking at a two-game suspension, given that he also served a one-game ban earlier in the year when he was retrospectively cited for an incident in the Allianz League game against Kerry.
Now, though, it seems likely that Donegal will seek a hearing with the Central Hearings Committee and a chance to put in a case to get their full-back a reprieve.
