MILFORD UNITED WERE given something of a scare this afternoon against Cappry Rovers but managed to get the three points.

Cappry Rovers 3-4 Milford United
Milford earned a valuable three points with a hard fought win over Cappry Rovers – holding on in a tight finish to win.
Milford led 3-0 at half time with Adam Serrinha scoring the first after five minutes, a good finish from 12 yards. Two further goals came when Mark Flood headed home a Gary Merritt free kick and then Kyle Black finished a good run to tap home.
Gary Merritt drove home following a good run by Black who squared his cross for his strike partner to finish.
Milford looked like they would run out comfortable winners but to their credit Cappry Rovers kept working hard and got back into it from the penalty spot when Colm Melaugh scored. Darren O’ Leary then tapped home before he then scored a 40-yard free kick which went into the roof of the net to leave a tense finish.

Rathmullan Celtic 2-1 Kilmacrennan Celtic
A last gasp strike in injury time from super striker Eamonn Sheridan sealed a dramatic 2-1 win for Rathmullan over local derby rivals Kilmacrennan to put the Hoops in title contention.
Gary Gorman’s opener was cancelled out by Ryan McCullough’s stunning equaliser at the end of the first half.
Despite dominating possession in the opening period, the Hoops failed to take advantage and Eamonn Sheridan was left to rue a guilt edged chance on 33 minutes when the striker was put clean through one-on-one with keeper Jason Hegarty but his strike went wide of the target.
Kilmac duly punished this and Gary Gorman calmly slotted past Mark Gallagher in the Hoops goals.
The equaliser finally came in first half stoppage time as Ryan Connolly jinked in from the right wing before slipping Sheridan through on goals and his neat pass to the unmarked McCullough resulted in an exquisite dummy strike before curling a stunning right footed strike into the bottom right corner.
Kilmacrennan were reduced to 10 men on 83 minutes when Mark Friel got his second yellow card following a late tackle on Shea Coyle.
In the last minute, Paddy Sheridan whipped in a cross from the wing which Coyle headed down for Sheridan to unleash a dramatic clincher inside the six yard box to leave the Hoops singing in the rain and seal the win for the Seaside faithful. James Gallagher, Paddy Sheridan and Ryan McCullough spearheaded a superb Hoops team performance while Kilmac’s defence marshalled by Gary Gorman were matched by the class of keeper Jason Hegarty.
Gweedore Celtic 1-4 Drumoghill FC
Drumoghill FC went away from Gweedore Celtic with all three points after three goals in the last few minutes.
Having scored mid-way through the first half courtesy of Patrick Rafferty, Drumoghill found themselves level with ten minutes left.
Gweedore clawed their way back into the game and when they equalised through Declan Doherty and with momentum behind them, it seemed as if they could push on and take all three points.
However poor defending at a corner allowed Rafferty to score his second and the crucial goal for Drumoghill.
The home team went in search of a second equaliser but were caught twice in the 89th and 91st minutes with Richie Moore and Keith Malseed scoring.
Best for Gweedore Damien O’Sullivan and Joe Bonar. For Drumoghill, Patrick Rafferty and Chris Malseed.

Bonagee United 3-2 Cranford United
Bonagee United came out on top against Cranford United but almost surrendered a three-goal lead.
Cranford came close on eight minutes when a shot from the edge of the box from Andrew Kelly went over the bar. Bonagee opened the scoring on 11 minutes when a cross from the left wing fell to Shane Kelly and he shot home from the edge of the box.
Three minutes later Bonagee should have scored but Paddy McGowan headed over from 10 yards.
McGowan did score on 20 minutes after he was put through by a great pass from Eamon Cannon and he shot home from just inside the edge of the box.
Bonagee went three up on the hour when Cannon played the ball down the wing to Marty McElhinney and his cross into the box was headed home from 12 yards by McGowan.
Cranford kept plugging away and Keelan Mc Gee scorer on 70 minutes when he shot home from 18 yards. Cranford got their second on 80 minutes when a corner from the left was punched away by the keeper and the ball fell Niall Doherty at the back of the box and his shot flew into the top corner of the net.
Raphoe Town 3-1 Keadue Rovers
Raphoe Town welcomed ‘The Gulls’ to a very cold and wet Deele College Grounds and three goals got the home side the three points.
The weather had taken a turn for worse after a fine morning but the Deele pitch held up well in the conditions. It was a very tense first half with both teams very evenly matched Raphoe had a few half chances with David Craig coming very close and Jamie Gallagher had a great effort tipped over the bar by the impressive Keadue keeper.
Keadue then came more into it and the home side had Craig Kelly to thank as he made a super clearance off the line with keeper Roy Duffy well beaten.
The second half belonged to the home side and a great move involving Frankie Mc Brearty, Oliver Quinn and David Craig was finished superbly by Emmett Kelly. Raphoe kept up the pressure and we’re awarded a penalty when captain Jamie Gallagher was brought down and up stepped McBrearty with nerves of steel to send the keeper the wrong way and score.
Raphoe went again and after a superb pass by Stephen Craig the impressive Frank McBrearty took one touch and curled a superb strike past the Keadue keeper who made a few fine stops after this. Danny Doogan’s men kept going and got a goal back in the 80th minute but it wasn’t enough as the game petered out.
A good team effort from a Keadue team with a few great young players. Oliver Quinn, Frankie Mc Brearty and David Craig were outstanding for Raphoe.

Whitestrand United 0-4 Ballybofey United
On a cold wet day Whitestrand United took on Ballybofey United at McGarvey Park and the visitors won comfortably.
The game started at a frenetic pace and Ballybofey took an early lead when Ronan McMenamin scored with a shot from the edge of the box. The early setback did not deter Whitestrand who began to take control of the game. However Ballybofey remained dangerous on the counter attack.
Whitestrand had chances but failed to take them as the game edged towards halftime in poor conditions. Ballybofey took a two-goal lead early in the second half when Damien Glackin broke the offside trap and calmly rounded the keeper. The Whitestrand defence and management claimed in vain for offside but the goal stood.
Then as the conditions deteriorated Ballybofey added to their lead when Mark Griffin crossed the ball and it went straight into the goal. This goal seemed to end the game as a contest and the final score was added to when Ballybofey added a late fourth.
Letterbarrow Celtic 7-2 Dunkineely Celtic
Letterbarrow Celtic came out on top in this encounter which was played in very wintery conditions against neighbours Dunkineely Celtic.
John Corley was in superb form, striking a hat-trick.
The home side opened the scoring after 10 minutes when Corley struck a fine shot with his left foot from 20 yards out. Dunkineely went close to an equaliser on 20 minutes but Corley made it 2-0 on the counter attack.
Corley secured his hat-trick on 50 minutes after a neat one-two with Gerard McBrearty. Five minutes later James McGroary found the top corner from just inside the box to give Letterbarrow a commanding lead.
Dunkineely fought back well and were denied by James McDaid on a number of occasions before John Ban Gallagher pulled one back from a corner. Kieran Kennedy made it four two when he finished from six yards.
With Dunkineely pushing forward Letterbarrow were able to exploit the gaps at the back and Gerard Mc Brearty made it 5-2 on 70 minutes when he calmly slotted home from close range. Conor McDaid scored Letterbarrow’s sixth after some good control and it was Mc Brearty who finished the scoring when he got his second on 85 minutes.
Ulster Junior Cup
Glenea United 3-1 Moville Celtic
In wet conditions Glenea continued their good run with a quickfire start in the Ulster Cup with a hard earned victory over Moville.
The home side started well and took the lead in the first minute when Ciaran McGeady got onto a Jason McGee pass and McGeady fired home from the edge of the box.
Glenea extended their lead on five minutes when Kevin Mulhern picked up a loose ball in midfield and from 25 yards found the corner of the net.
Glenea continued to look for a third goal but as the half progressed Moville came more into the game and had a number of chances to score but failed to convert them. On the stroke of half time Glenea got their third when Moville failed to deal with a free-kick and it broke to Ciaran McGeady and he found the net again.
In the second half Moville pushed hard for a goal and the home side were content to play on the break. Joe Doherty forced a couple of good saves from Ciaran Gallagher in the home goal, but Glenea looked dangerous on the break and went close on a couple of occasions to extending their lead with Ciaran Mc Geady hitting the bar.
Moville pulled a goal back on 90 minutes when Joe Doherty scored with a fine shot from the edge of the box. In a good team performance Sean Coll, Jason McGee and Ciaran Mc Geady were at the fore for Glenea, while Joe Doherty was best for Moville.
Kildrum Tigers 7-0 Lifford Celtic
Kildrum started brightly and were two up within 10minutes, goals from Mickey Crossan and Glenn Bovaird.
Two became three when Glenn Bovaird scored a great free kick just before half time. Gareth Colhoun then scored after a good solo run. Kildrum dominated the second half with two goals Reece Laird and one from O’ Donnell. Great team performance from Kildrum. Best for Lifford was Colin Carlin
Ulster Junior Shield
KS Eagles 1-5 Glencar Celtic 5
Declan Scanlon has scored many important goals for Glencar Celtic.
His strike to open the scoring against KS Eagles in the Ulster Junior Shield on Sunday afternoon will surely rank among those for future discussion. Eddie Mc Laughlin added two to the Donegal League side’s tally while stand-in goalkeeper Paddy O’ Kane saved a penalty to keep the Letterkenny men on course for the next round. Eugene Sullivan and Jordan McGinley completed the scoring.
