Glencar Inn Saturday Division
Drumbar F.C. 1 Arranmore United 1
Arranmore made the long trip to Drumbar for the second time in a month and started the brighter of the two sides keeping and moving the ball very well trying to unlock a very sturdy Drumbar defence.
The first half had very few talking points as both sides seemed to cancel each other out.
Both sides had chances with no real threat on goal. Into the second half and it was Drumbar who started brightly creating the more clear cut chances.
The game seemed to come to life mid-way through the second half when Arranmore were awarded a free kick on the edge of the Drumbar box and the Islanders went 1-0 up when the dead ball was rifled into the corner giving the Drumbar keeper no chance.
Drumbar heads didn’t drop and as the game progressed the Drumbar lads upped their game pressing well and connecting well with each other, when eventually Drumbar level things up after a goalmouth scrabble saw Daniel Bennett quickest to react to make it 1-1.
The temperature of the game went up a notch with both side looking to nick a winner and both sides coming close on a few occasions but 1-1 was how it ended, probably a fair result. Man of the Match for Drumbar was youngster Aidan Mc Hugh, who put in a very sturdy show at right back

The second half started and both teams had chances to go in front but it was Orchard who took the lead through Giovanni People’s after Joe Mc Carron put a neat cross into the box Gio headed the ball home.

In a reversed fixture, Cappry welcomed Kilmacrennan to Cappry Park. The game got off to a lively start with both teams putting the pressure on but Cappry broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute when Kyle O’Meara chipped the keeper.
Cappry kept the pressure on the Kilmacrennan defence for the rest of the 1st half and it paid off when defender Ethan Mc Glynn headed the ball into the net from a Kyle O’Meara corner kick.
Kilmacrennan had good spells of possession but couldn’t find their way past the defensive back four of Paddy Long, Petie Lafferty, Darren Bonner and goalscorer Ethan Mc Glynn. Kilmacrennan came back into the game in the 2nd half, creating some superb chances but couldn’t get the ball past Cappry goalkeeper Paddy Friel.
David Carr put Cappry three up with a close range shot from within the visitor’s box. Strong midfield play from Conor and Shane Laverty, Shaun Bannigan and NP McDaid kept the chances coming for Cappry and a superb low strike into the left corner from outside the box from Conor Laverty gave Benji O’Meara’s men their 4th goal of the game.
