Kildrum Tigers climbed to the summit of the Donegal League Premier Division as goals by Damian Crossan and Ethan Coll secured a 2-1 win over Rathmullan Celtic. Shane Brown’s side go top thanks to the win on a busy weekend across all the Divisions.

Orchard F.C. 1 Glencar Celtic 2
This game was played at Drumkeen United’s pitch. The first 20 minutes had the usual high pace of a derby match and was evenly contested. Glencar had a couple of half chances and finally found the break through after Lee McMonagle spun his man and rifled his shot off the post only for Kieran Doherty to react quickest and pounce on the loose ball and turn it home.
Glencar grew into the game from here and had a couple of half chances but the Orchard had their chances as well, narrowly shooting wide on two occasions which would have levelled the game.
Glencar doubled their lead however after a super ball from Eamonn Dunne released Paddy Collins down the flank and he crossed superbly with his left foot to find Doherty whose powerful header nestled in the side netting.
Orchard were reduced to 10 men early in the second half with Micheal Doherty sent off for his second yellow card, both for dissent towards the referee.
This only seemed to spur on Orchard who to their credit played better with 10 men and scored a late consolation goal and had Glencar under some late pressure but couldn’t find an equaliser.
Credit to both sides who battled well. Glencar would like to thank Drumkeen Football Club for the use of their pitch.
Castlefin Celtic Reserves 6 Keadue Rovers Reserves 1
Castlefin secured a comfortable home victory over Keadue on Saturday in Parkview.
The hosts started well and were in the lead within the first minute when Rory Dalton headed home a Gary McNulty corner. The visitors got a foothold in the game and deservedly equalised in the 30th minute through Christian Bonner.
In the 40th minute Castlefin regained their lead when McNulty played through Roulston who slotted home. In the second half the hosts scored within the first minute again when Dalton crossed for Keith Nelis who tapped home.
Castlefin increased their lead when McNulty found Simon McGlinchey who headed back across goal to Nelis who tapped home.
Nelis completed his hat-trick when McNulty squared the ball to him and he finished well.
Castlefin made it six when Nelis got his fourth after a David Stewart through ball.
Best for Castlefin: Rory Dalton and Reece Gallagher. Team performance from Keadue.
Referee: Tony Mc Namee
Donegal Town Reserves 4 Glenea United Reserves 3
Donegal came out on top in this one after a late surge from the visitors almost earned them a point. Indeed it was Glenea who started much the brighter and took the lead on five minutes when a good move down the right was tucked home by Ciaran McFadden at the near post. Donegal came into it after that and dominated the half for long periods, going close on a few occasions including hitting the post.
The pressure eventually told minutes before the break when a quick free kick played to Shaun Kennedy out wide was whipped into the back post for David Bustard to head home with and accomplished finish. Donegal continued to dominate after the break and got their noses in front on the hour mark when Stephen Curneen pounced on a short back pass to slot the ball home.
David Harron made it three shortly after that when slipped in by Bustard to finish well from inside the area, a goal which his performance certainly deserved. Stephen Curneen looked to have put the game out of sight when a quality pinpoint cross from Gary Ward was nodded home at the back post.
Donegal paid the penalty for complacency straight away as Martin Ferry pounced on a spilled long range effort straight from kick off to bring the deficit back to just two. Ferry ensured a nervy finish for the home side when he evaded the home defence to head home from a wide cross.
In the end the hosts held on to make it three wins on the spin. Team performance from the visitors with the youthful Matthew McKenna, Shaun Kennedy and David Harron impressing for Donegal. Referee: Liam McLaughlin
Milford United Reserves 3 Cappry Rovers Reserves 1
Milford welcomed Cappry to Moyle View and secured a badly needed 3 points.
The first half was very even with a few half chances for both teams. Milford broke the deadlock though on the stroke of halftime. A through ball from a Milford defender found Ciaran Blaney who calmly slotted past the Cappry keeper. The second half was much the same but it was Milford who got the crucial second goal on 70 minutes.
Ryan Flood sent in a great corner which caused confusion in the Cappry box and JJ Fleming was on hand to finish. Cappry came back strong and were awarded a penalty on 85 minutes which Kyle O’Meara converted to set up a tense finale.
To Milford’s credit they found a third goal just three minutes later. A good cross into the box found Lee Burke who took a good touch and drilled it into the bottom corner.
A good team effort from Cappry with Kyle O’Meara standing out. A good all round team performance from Milford.

Drumbar United 3 Gweedore Celtic 3
Caolan Loughney opened the scoring from the edge of the box after a period of pressure from the home side. The referee’s whistle then sounded to give the visitors a penalty which was converted by Liam McFadden.
Keelan Heeney then controlled the ball, and shot in one movement, inside the edge of the box, to find the top corner.
The Gweedore ‘leeper was tested when Keelan Heeney, O’Shea and Jamie Flanagan combined inside the box, a double save and a clearance left it 2-1 at half time.
The opening minutes of the second half saw the game turn upside down, a follow up ball in after a free kick, left Daniel McLaughlin on his own at the back post with no whistle, he slotted home from close range.
Drumbar defended a corner four minutes later, heading out, but it was meet by a volley from Cathal Campbell which rocketed to the top corner.
The home side took some time to adjust to suddenly having to chase a game they had been leading with some comfort at the end of the first half. It was substitute David Giblin who equalised with eight minutes remaining following a through ball played from midfield by Caolan Loughney.
Drumbar pressed for the closing minutes but both sides had the settle for a share of the spoils.

Cappry Rovers 1 Castlefin Celtic 0
Cappry Rovers secured the points in a thrilling top of the table clash at Cappry Park between two evenly matched teams. Castlefin created a few chances in the first half putting pressure on the home defence but good defending and goalkeeping by Eoin Gallen in the Cappry goal kept the game scoreless at the break.
Castlefin kept the momentum going in the second half in search of the lead goal. They nearly scored in the 61st minute when a shot from a tight angle hit the Cappry post but was cleared much to the relief of the home team.
Cappry upped their game after this and started to push forward a bit more at the Castlefin defence and created several half chances through Alan Getins, Cathal McShane and Aaron Kelly.
Cappry got what proved to be the winner in the seventy third minute when Cathal McShane won the ball outpaced the visitors defence and his cross was met by Aaron Kelly who blasted the ball to the net under the diving Castlefin keeper much to the delight of the Cappry players and supporters.

Drumoghill F.C. 2 Kilmacrennan Celtic 4
A second half brace from Caolan McDaid was enough to secure the points for Kilmacrennan Celtic from this entertaining clash at The Moss.
McDaid produced smart finishes either side of what looked like a remarkable recovery by the hosts, as they threatened to claim a share of the spoils after Kilmacrennan had cruised into a 3-0 lead.
McDaid’s 86th minute solo effort finally settled the outcome after John O’Kane and Niall Hanley had reduced Drumoghill’s deficit to the minimum, as they went in search of an unlikely equaliser. In doing so though created the opening for McDaid to race away and clinch the points. Kilmacrennan were the better side for the first hour of this contest and were well worth their 3-0 lead.
They opened the scoring on 12 minutes when Chris Dillon took advantage of poor marking before Paddy Sheridan doubled their advantage on the half hour.
The game looked beyond Drumoghill after McDaid hammered home from 18 yards on 58 minutes to make it 3-0 to the visitors.
Drumoghill though lack nothing when it comes to character and the comeback began on 64 minutes when John O’Kane found the corner of the net with a neat side-foot effort from the edge of the area.
The goal was the result of an excellent move down the left involving Niall Hanley, Colm Gardiner and Liam O’Donnell who combined to set-up O’Kane and the big man made no mistake.
Kilmacrennan started to look nervous and Drumoghill exploited this to their advantage on 77 minutes.
Niall Hanley had earlier tested Jason Quinn’s ability to deal with the high ball from a corner kick as the windy conditions became a struggle to deal with.
Hanley delivered another in-swinger and Quinn could only punch the ball clear from behind the goal-line and referee Liam McLaughlin awarded the goal.
It was now game on and Drumoghill piled on the pressure in search of a precious equaliser.
But the pace of McDaid was something that they could not contain as he raced away to settle the contest.
Lagan Harps 2 Donegal Town 6
Donegal Town eventually ran out comfortable winners after a ding dong game. Donegal scored with the first minute when Michael O’ Donnell converted a cross from the right.
Eunan Diver equalised on five minutes with a free from the edge of the area. Conor Temple had a chance to put Lagan ahead minutes later but shot straight at Enda Kenny when through. Lagan took the lead on 18 minutes when Eunan Diver threaded a ball through which Iarlaith Mc Ginley finished well.
Keenan Gallagher then equalised for Donegal Town on 22 minutes with a header from a corner. The second half started the same way with Donegal Town again pressing.
Lagan however created two good chances with Enda Kenny thwarting Eunan Diver twice. Donegal regained the lead on 57 minutes when Stephen Graham fired home via a deflection. Joe Mc Intyre got the goal his exciting wing play deserved on sixty-five minutes.
This was game over. Donegal added a fifth through a penalty from Dan Mc Hugh on 75 minutes and a shot from Ronan Mc Hugh on 90 minutes.
A young Lagan side battled hard throughout with Oran Downey excellent while older players Damien McFadden and Eunan Diver stood out. For an exciting Donegal side Joe Mc Intyre was a constant threat while Stephen Graham and Dan Mc Hugh did well. Referee was Paddy Martin

Erne Wanderers 2 Gweedore Celtic 0
Erne Wanderers hosted Gweedore Celtic at the Lakeside Centre on Sunday in perfect conditions for football and claimed a comfortable two nil win. The visitors made the long trip minus a few regulars but still made Erne work hard but in truth the hosts should have been more comfortable than it was.
The breakthrough came on twenty minutes when David Dolan was fouled in the box and Ryan O’Brien put the penalty into the top corner. The visitors held out until the 65th minute when new signing Ronan Cox sprung the offside trap and lifted the ball over the advancing keeper.
Erne should have scored more but will be happy enough to get back to winning ways after a poor spell of results.
Travers and Dorrian doing well for Wanderers while a young Gweedore side battled well until the end. Referee: James Malseed.
Raphoe Town 0 Keadue Rovers 1
A hard-fought game in perfect conditions was played up at Deele Park, Raphoe.
The first half ended scoreless with few chances for either side. Keadue started the second half well and nearly scored from a header, but it was brilliantly saved by Roy Duffy in the Raphoe goal.
Raphoe started to create chances and went for the won. Ryan Mc Cullagh hit the bar from 18 yards Raphoe were caught on the break in the 82nd minute, Corey Gallagher getting what was to be the winner .
Ballybofey United 0 St. Catherines 5
St. Catherines recorded a win on the road when they defeated Ballybofey United on Sunday afternoon. The hosts, after gaining promotion last term were leading the Division going into this match but St. Catherines were good value for their victory.
Bonagee United 2 Lifford Celtic 5
The visitors came close to opening the scoring on nine minutes when James Connelly shot over from the edge of the box. Connelly did find the net two minutes later.
The home team levelled the match on twenty minutes when a great through ball from Eamon Cannon found Graham Cullen and he shot home from 15 yards.
Mark Neeson put the visitors in front on the half hour when his free kick wide on the right found its way to the back of the net. Lifford got their third on 33 minutes when Corey McGettigan broke through the defence and laid the ball off to Johnny Robb and he shot home from ten yards.
Noel O’Donnell for the home team saw his header from a corner just go over the bar on 38 minutes and Cannon also saw his strike from the edge of the box two minutes later just go wide.
Carr in the home goal made a great save on the stroke of half time from James Connolly.
Lifford got their fourth on fifty-five minutes when the referee awarded a penalty for a foul on Connolly in the box and Jonny Robb’s spot kick was saved by Carr but he converted the rebound.
Bonagee got their second on the hour when a free kick wide on the edge of the box by Eamon Cannon went in at the near post. The home side had a few half chances through Drew Connelly, Cannon and O’Donnell.
The visitors were awarded a second penalty on 83 minutes but Carr made a great save from Robb.
The visitors got the final goal of the game three minutes later when a long ball from midfield over the defence and Jonny Robb beat the defender to the ball and lobbed the advancing keeper from twenty yards.
Team effort by both side. Referee: Seamus Ferry.
Dunkineely Celtic 2 Convoy Arsenal 5
Dunkineely started this game very brightly when they won a free on the right wing which was well delivered by Paul Murrin who found Adrian Nesbitt who made no mistake to make 1-0 after just 4 minutes.
Convoy pressed hard and from a corner on the 12 minute Eunan Kelly levelled matters.
Celtic were back in front again in the 16th minute when Aaron Byrne got on the end of a corner from Darragh Murrin. Daniel Gallagher tried hard in midfield for Celtic.
Convoy got level after 24minutes through Kelly from the penalty spot. It was nip and tuck after that when just before the break that man Kelly got his third. Celtic had some great chances but found the visiting keeper in top form.
Bogle got number 4 for Convoy in the 78th minute and Kelly got a second in the 86th minute to wrap up the points for the visitors for whom Eunan Kelly stood out.
Martin Cunningham, Daniel Gallagher and Jordan Watters tried hard for the Celtic.

Cranford United 1 Glenree United 1
In what was the first derby between these teams for a few years no team was going to get it easy.
Cranford started brightly with Kaolan McGroddy and Kevin Doherty putting the Glenree defence under pressure. Glenree got the lead with Danny Langan converting from a dead ball from 22 yards.
Cranford again started brightly from the half time restart, and this time got their reward with Pauric McGinty smashing home from inside the box for his second goal in as many games. Both teams had chances to snatch the win but perhaps a fair result in the end.

Whitestrand United 2 Letterbarrow Celtic 1
On a perfect day for a game of soccer Whitestrand took on Letterbarrow at McGarvey Park.
Whitestrand were attacking well early on and had a few chances. Sean Martin played a fantastic through ball and Liam O’Riordan scored.
Whitestrand were well on top and had chances through Liam O’Riordan but Letterbarrow equalised when they were granted a penalty which after a delay Alan Foxton calmly slotted home.
Shortly after this, Paddy Kelly hit the bar from his own half with a superbly struck free kick. Whitestrand responded well and regained the lead on the stroke of half time when a shot from Kevin Loughrey was palmed by the opposition keeper into the path of Liam O’Riordan who made no mistake.
Whitestrand started the second half well and had early chances to extend their lead.
Letterbarrow were reduced to ten men and Whitestrand came away with the victory which could have been more comprehensive than the scoreline suggests. Liam O’Riordan for his superb running and two goals, Sean Martin for his superb assist and Anthony Fisher all deserve a special mention
