Harry Doherty has signed a two-year contract at Irish League Premiership champions Crusaders.
The 22-year-old Buncrana man has been snapped up by Stephen Baxter in the wake of Carrick Rangers’ relegation to the Championship.
Doherty impressed during his stint at the Taylors Avenue side and is looking forward to moving to Seaview.
Doherty previously played for Finn Harps and was on the books of Charlton Athletic and Brighton as a teenager, while he has been capped at underage level by the Republic of Ireland.
Doherty came on as a substitute for Sean O’Neill in a friendly yesterday as Crusaders lost out 2-1 to Welsh Premier League side Connah’s Quay Nomads.
After Jordan Forsythe put Crusaders into the lead, goals by Callum Morriss and Michael Bakare gave the Welsh side the win.
