DONEGAL jockey Conor Orr was toasting an 8/1 winner at Tramore today.
Orr took Bridge Native to victory in the Jerry O’Donovan Memorial Rated Novice Chase.
Orr and Bridge Native had three-and-a-half lengths to spare on the 11/4 favourite, Benefit Run, under the direction of Rachael Blackmore.
Sitting in fourth with a circuit to race, Orr moved inside to challenge and surged well over the final 50 yards to win on the Dot Love-trained nine-year-old.
Love’s assistant trainer, Ciaran Murphy, said: “She deserved that and had two lovely runs so she knew what she was doing today. Hopefully the handicapper won’t be too hard on her and she should win a few over fences.
“We got a job done on her wind and we gave her a nice break so we think that has made the difference. The owners have been very patient and given us the time with her.”
