TWO LETTERKENNY WOMEN are part of the Oisin’s GAA club in Manchester who are taking to the continent on Saturday to represent their club in the All-Ireland series.
Grainne O’Malley and Áine Keating play their football with Óisin’s ladies and last having this year won the Lancashire championship, earlier this month they defeated Glasgow Gaels at Beaston Park in Leeds 0-14 to 0-10 to become All-Britain Junior Champions.
This Saturday at Maastrict in the Netherlands, Oisin’s face a play-off against Belgium GAA in the preliminary round of the All-Ireland Series.
“Since our All-Britain Final we have been trying every which way to raise money to help us get the flights, accommodation and travel paid for, this has been proven difficult with only three weeks to fundraise,” goalkeeper Grainne (pictured above), who is the daughter of Kevin and Teresa from Dromore, said.
“I am a Primary School teacher working in Manchester,” Grainne added. “I ended up in Manchester after studying for four years in Liverpool Hope University. I was looking for jobs and after my first interview got the job in Manchester and moved up a month later.
