Donegal’s hurlers have been relegated from Division 2B of the Allianz Hurling League.
Donegal 0-14 Warwickshire 2-10
Mickey McCann’s men were left to rue 15 wides and the concession of two goals in Longford this afternoon in the Division 2B relegation play-off.
Donegal led by four at half-time, but it was Warwickshire who proved the more economical in the second half.
Emmet McCabe and Kelvin McGee hit the goals as Warwickshire preserved their status and brought Donegal back to Division 3A after two seasons in Division 2B.
Jack O’Loughlin and Declan Coulter got Donegal off and running. With Lee Henderson, Kevin Kealy and Ciaran Matthewson on the board, Donegal led 0-8 to 0-4 at the short whistle.
But those goals proved telling, while Donegal’s wide count rose by the minute and their fingers were prised from the ledge.
