DONEGAL’S HURLERS MUST meet Wicklow in a relegation play-off after going down by 16 points against the Garden County yesterday.
Padraig Doran and Mikey Lee hit second-half goals as Martin Storey’s Wicklow scored a commanding win over an again understrength Donegal.
Wicklow won 2-27 to 0-17 at Aughrim. Wicklow led 0-16 to 0-7 at half-time and continued their dominance in the second half.
It has been a difficult spring for Ardal McDermott’s Donegal, who will have to take on Wicklow again in a Division 2B relegation play-off the weekend after next.
The losers of that game will face the Division 3A winners in a promotion/relegation play-off to see who will play Division 2B hurling in 2017.
Roscommon and Monaghan meet in the Division 3A final this Saturday.
