The new sponsorship arrangement is for a three-year term until the end of the 2018 Championship campaign.
“We were delighted to conclude this deal with a local company who have been a huge success story,” said the Donegal County Chairman, Sean Dunnion.
“They have a very close affinity with the county and we’re looking forward to working with them over the next three years.”
Donegal footballers will wear the new jersey – which is again manufactured by O’Neills – for the first time in Saturday’s Allianz League Division 1 game against Down at Pairc Esler in Newry.
Donegal senior football team manager Rory Gallagher, senior footballers Michael Murphy and Neil McGee, county hurlers Joe Boyle and Sean McVeigh and the Donegal Under-21 football manager Declan Bonner were among those present at the launch.
KN Group are providers to the Telecommunications, Civil Engineering, Rail, Electricity and Energy Sectors in Ireland, the UK and Internationally, whose CEO Donagh Kelly hails from Frosses.
“We’re delighted that the KN Group have come on board with Donegal GAA,” Dunnion said.
“We were honoured to be asked to be the sponsor,” Donagh Kelly said.
“GAA plays a big part in our company. We sponsor a lot of teams. For us, sponsorship isn’t about selling more services, but it’s about the good will.”
MCR Group are an independently Irish owned broad based specialist service group of companies that was established in 1996. They provide a full range of Recruitment services & also provide services in Engineering, Security, Flooring and Cleaning. Milford native Donall Barrett is a director of the MCR Group.
“They are another very successful company,” Dunnion said.
“We’re delighted to have them on board too. They’ve been very good supporters of Donegal.”
Donall Barrett said: “We’re delighted to be on the jersey and we’re looking forward to working with the Board and to seeing the Donegal team doing well this year.”
Dunnion added: “This is a great day for Donegal and it shows that Donegal is still a big draw.
“I want to pay tribute to our treasurer, Cieran Kelly, for his work. They say that there is no downtime in the life of a GAA Administrator and one of Cieran’s meetings with Donagh was on Boxing Day, which shows the hard work he put in.”
Ciaran Kennedy of O’Neills Sportswear said: “Donegal GAA is very important to us. Our workforce in Strabane has a very strong Donegal accent and they are invaluable to our company.”
