Donegal GAA are awaiting clarification from Croke Park after a vote to elect a new county treasurer ended in a tie.
At a county committee meeting in Ballybofey last night, Brendan Kelly (St Mary’s, Convoy) and Alan Boyd (Gaoth Dobhair) were locked at 33 votes apiece.
Kelly and Boyd were two candidates to allow their names go forward to replace Cieran Kelly, who resigned from the position last month.
Donegal officials were unsure if the County Chairman, Mick McGrath (pictured), was permitted to use a casting vote last night.
The Board have sought advice from the office of the Árd Stiúrthóir, Tom Ryan, and hope to have a decision at some stage today.
Should the green light be given for McGrath to have a casting vote, the Chairman is then expected to convey his decision to executive members and clubs.
