Two Donegal men will be part of a GAA team that will make history this weekend.
Amsterdam GAC will face St Finian’s from Dublin in the All-Ireland junior club championship at Abbotstown in Dublin tomorrow.
The game, at the GAA National Development Centre, will see Amsterdam become the first European GAA club to compete in the All-Ireland club championship in Ireland.
Michael Sweeney of Red Hughs and Gaeil Fhánada native Hugh Friel are part of the Amsterdam squad.
They overcame Eindhoven 1-15 to 0-3 in the European GAA Championship final in Maastricht and now look forward to this weekend’s game.
Amsterdam have represented Europe in the Leinster Junior Football Championship in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
