Donegal’s GAA clubs have tonight voted in favour of retaining the Minor League and Championship competitions as they are for 2017.
At tonight’s underage fixtures forum at the Villa Rose Hotel in Ballybofey, clubs opted to keep the competitions as they are, at under-18 grade.
Club delegates were asked to decide between this or to go for an under-17 competition.
From 2018, the inter-county minor competitions will be played at under-17 following a vote at GAA Congress in 2016.
Minor at club level was not affected by this vote, but a discussion was held tonight in Donegal that could have seen club football in this county make a similar change.
However, for 2017, at least, there will be no change to the age groups.
