Donegal ladies captain Karen Guthrie has allayed any injury fears ahead of Saturday’s TG4 All-Ireland semi-final against Cork.
Guthrie pulled a muscle in her leg the week prior to their All-Ireland group phase game against Kerry last month.
The Glenfin midfielder started that game, but had to come off after just 21 minutes. Guthrie’s game time in the All-Ireland quarter-final win over Armagh was limited to a two-minute cameo as a substitute.
“I’m 100 per cent again,” Guthrie declared, just days before Saturday’s big game in Dr Hyde Park (2.45pm).
“I’m looking forward to getting playing again. It seems like a lifetime when you’re not playing.
“I pulled up the week before the Kerry game. I had difficulty sprinting and the Kerry game was probably naivety on my behalf.
“The following week, the Armagh game, was too fast. I’ve trained since and it’s been good. We’re blessed that we have Tommy Kerr there and he was working really hard in the background to get me back.”
Guthrie admits that it was hard to watch as Donegal defeated Armagh 0-19 to 1-13 in Omagh to reach a first ever semi-final.
She said: “It’s different and it’s frustrating, but no matter who’s on you have unbelievable trust in them. we’re all working off the same hymn sheet. That might sound cliched, but it’s true. You know everyone will work as hard as they can and do a job.”
