Two Donegal boxers have been chosen to represent Ireland at the forthcoming European Women’s Youth and Junior Championships in Bulgaria.
Carndonagh’s nine-time Irish champion Labhaoise Clarke and Illies Golden Gloves’ rising prospect Chloe McDaid have both been selected as part of the traveling party.
Clarke is no stranger to the big stage and, with nine Irish titles under her belt, an assault on the continent is the next mission.
Clarke goes in the Youth 57kgs class and will be aiming to make her mark in Sofia.
McDaid, meanwhile, won her second Irish title recently when she defeat Zoe McGlone of St Paul’s in the Girl 4 53kgs final.
‘Little Miss Dynamite’ will now don the Irish vest for the Junior 54kgs division in Sofia.
Boxing in Bulgaria takes place from July 2-10.
