DONEGAL HAVE SUBMITTED an appeal against the proposed one-game ban for full-back Neil McGee.
This afternoon, the Donegal County Board lodged a request for a hearing for McGee, who was cited for a category 3 infraction during last Sunday’s Allianz Football League game against Kerry.
The Gaoth Dobhair man was involved in the incident in the seventh minute that led to the sending off of Kerry full-forward Alan Fitzgerald.
McGee left the field with a bloodied nose and while he reappeared for the second half it is understood that McGee sustained a broken nose.
A one-game ban was proposed by the Central Competitions Controls Committee (CCCC), but the Donegal Board have confirmed that they are fighting the ban and have also appealed the €7,500 fine that was handed down by the GAA’s disciplinary chiefs.
