Orlaith Doherty netted twice as Lagan Harps overcame Raphoe Town in the U12 Rosebowl Final.

It was all level at half time as both keepers comfortably saved the few shots that came their way.Â
Lagan couldn’t make a breakthrough on the Raphoe defenders of Alicia McCullagh, Enya McBride, Niamh Toye and Molly McGroarty.Â
Likewise at other end, Lagan defenders Scarlet Keys, Aileen Sweeney and Mia Devenney defended strongly, leaving no way through for Raphoe and it was a real battling performance from all the midfielders.Â
Shortly after the restart a good through ball by Tanya Gillen saw Doherty break through for her shot to be blocked by McCullagh.
Doherty set up Ellie O’Neill for a great shot just wide of the post.
Samara McBrearty ran clear for Raphoe, but Devenney got back to make a good block.Â
Sine Harris Ryan made a good run down the right crossing to Sophie Canning whose shot was well saved.Â
Cara Eaton began to cause problems for Lagan on the right, but Shauna O’Donnell made a few blocks.Â
Doherty opened the scoring on 46 minutes when she wriggled in on the left to drill a shot into bottoms corner from 15 yards.Â
Ella McHugh linked with with Samara McBrearty, only for Abigail Quigley to get back to clear the danger.Â
On 49 minutes, Doherty converted a penalty after a handball.Â
Great effort, determination shown, and the improvement in all the girls since the start of the season could easily be seen.
