WHILE NAOMH PADRAIG, MUFF had the edge on Red Hughs in Division 4’s top-of-the-table clash, St Mary’s of Convoy and Robert Emmet’s also claimed wins last night.
Aidan Lynch and Dara McConway scored the goals for Naomh Padraig, Muff in a 2-10 to 1-9 win over Red Hughs at Ture with Calvin Bradley netting from a penalty for the visitors.
St Mary’s, Convoy claimed their first League win of the year as they easily overcame Pettigo 3-18 to 0-3.
Michael Ayton’s well-taken goal and a flurry of points from the likes of Raymond McNamee, Laurence McMullan Anthony Browne, Peter Blake, Benny Bonner and Emmett Kelly helped St Mary’s lead 1-9 to 0-2 at the break.
The on-song Browne, who scored 1-4, netted early in the second half and St Mary’s cruised through the gears for the win with Gary Gillen coming off the bench for a goal late in the game.
Robert Emmets had the edge on derby rivals Naomh Padraig, Lifford at The Roughan.
Gary McNulty posted six points for the winners, who also had Mark Lafferty, John Hunter, Ryan McGirr and Chris Bryson on target.
The win moves Robert Emmets above Lifford, for whom Darren Gillespie drilled over seven frees and Lorny Crossan scored the other two.
