BUNDORAN WILL MEET LOUGHINISLAND from Down in the Ulster Intermediate Club Football Championship final on Sunday-week, November 29, at Owenbeg (throw-in 2.30pm).
The Ulster Council released details of their finals last night and Bundoran will be at the Derry Centre of Excellence in Owenbeg for their clash with the Dan Gordon-inspired Loughinisland.
Brilliant Bundoran won through to the final when they overcame Glenavy 1-12 to 1-7 in Newry, Christy Keaney’s goal in added time putting a gloss on the scoreboard for the Gaelic Park men.
Brian Gavigan’s team, who last month hammered Naomh Colmcille in the Donegal IFC final at O’Donnell Park, had previously beaten Clann Eireann from Armagh in a quarter-final that went to extra-time in Ballyshannon.
Loughinisland had to come the long way to the final. They defeated Greenlough 2-15 to 0-11 in the preliminary round before getting over Edendork 1-13 to 2-5 in the quarter-final.
On Sunday, Loughinisland were 4-7 to 1-7 winners over Doohamlet in their semi-final with Conor McGoran, John McCarthy, Paddy McKinney and captain Gordon on the mark with the goals.
