BOTH TEAMS WERE playing their final game of the season, and it was Derry City Reserves who were victorious in this encounter at Dry Arch Park against Bonagee United.
Bonagee United 0-2 Derry City
Under the guidance of Hugh Harkin and first team manager Kenny Shiels, Derry started the game well and had early chances through Josh Daniels and Nathan Boyle.
The opened the scoring in the 17th minute. Gareth McGlynn danced his way into the Bonagee penalty area to cross for Conor Tourish to side foot home from six yards. McGlynn was again involved in their next chance, but his volley from distance went just over the crossbar.
They got their second of the game in the 55th minute when, after a period of dominance, Jordan Allen scored from a free kick following a foul on Rathmullan man, Adrian Delap. Derry had numerous efforts after that, but if it wasn’t for the excellent goalkeeping from Eugene Ferry in the home goals, the score line would have been much more.
