DONEGAL LOST out in Monday’s Under-18 Inter-league semi-final against MGL.

MGL took the lead after when they scored straight from a corner which was greatly assisted by a storm wind.
The Donegal girls were under pressure for most of the first half with the defence of Ciana Brogan, Chantel Kelly, Grainne Gallagher and Aoife Page breaking down the attacks and anything that did get through was well saved by Amy Boyd.

The hard-working Zoe Green found Shannon on the edge of the box and she rounded the defender but shot just wide.
The Donegal girls went out more determined in the second half with the three in the middle of Green, Walsh and Erin Coll getting on the ball more and got the passes out to the wing players.
[adrotate group=”37″]The Donegal girls got their just rewards when a ball over the top by Callaghan to the advancing run of Green saw the international round the ‘keeper to slot the ball into the net.
With seven mins left MGL broke down the left by Lydia Cook and the cross was tapped into the back on net from close range by Aoibh Hall.
Donegal immediately went to three at back pushing players forward. With two minutes left, the final blow when Donegal were caught up field and the breaking ball cleared by MGL to Lauren Keelea who fired home.
