Donegal manager Declan Bonner certainly can’t be accused of neglecting his club.
Bonner, whose Donegal side begin their Division 2 campaign on Sunday against Clare in Ennis, has been re-elected as the Chairman of Na Rossa.
Bonner remains immersed in the workings of Na Rossa, who are in the middle of developing a new playing pitch.
The 1992 All-Ireland winner even turned out to play for Na Rossa in 2018 and has regularly lined out as goalkeeper in recent seasons (below).
Na Rossa have been struggling for numbers as emigration grips the Lettermacaward area, but Bonner and company are determined to ride the storm.
Bonner was re-elected as Chairman at Friday night’s AGM in McCready’s Bar. There are surely not too many – if any – senior inter-county managers who are as central to the affairs of their club.
Donal Trimble will manage Na Rossa in 2019 as he takes the reins from Pat Caulfield.
Meanwhile, Pat Boyle will serve as club secretary for a remarkable 38th consecutive year.
