DALE GORMAN made his first league appearance for Stevenage in this afternoon’s 2-2 draw with Newport County in the Sky Bet League Two.
Letterkenny native Gorman (pictured above) came off the bench for a full debut against Ipswich Town in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night as was today taken from the bench again.
The 19-year-old, who is the eldest son of Shiela and Anthony – the former Finn Harps, Sligo Rovers, Coleraine and Linfield midfielder – joined Stevenege from Letterkenny Rovers two years ago and is a first year professional.
This afternoon at Rodney Parade, Dipo Akinyemi finished off a fine counter attack to put Teddy Sheringham’s Stevenage 1-0 up at the break.
However, Newport, who are managed by former England captain Terry Butcher, hit back through an Aaron Collins header before Scott Boden slotted home with 11 minutes remaining.
Gorman was sprung into action on 82 minutes and in the last minute of the 90, Stevenage levelled through a goal from Mark Hughes.
