MATTHEW Crossan will miss Friday-week’s game against Cabinteely as the Finn Harps player has been slapped with a one-match suspension.
The FAI’s Disciplinary Controls Unit have confirmed that the Killea man (pictured above, courtesy of Gary Foy), has reached his quota of bookings and will sit out Harps’ next game, the trip to Stradbrook.
Utility player Crossan, who has filled a number of positions for Harps this season, had been in fine form of late, with an excellent performance two weeks ago against Athlone Town and a useful 90 minutes in Friday’s win over Shelbourne.
Crossan has played 19 games this season, but will serve a suspension against Cabinteely, the First Division’s newcomers.
Ollie Horgan will welcome Josh Mailey back into contention for that game after a two-game suspension following his sending off against Athlone.
Meanwhile, UCD can go above Harps into second spot in the table tonight. The Students are in third, just two points behind Harps. They have two games in hand, one of which sees them host Athlone at Belfield tonight.
