Controversial defeat for Shaun McShane in Scotland

SHAUN MCSHANE SUFFERED a controversial loss against Eddie Doyle last night in Motherwell.

The former Dungloe ABC man McShane was bidding for the vacant Scottish super lightweight belt, but was beaten on points 96-95.

Many observers in the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility felt that McShane had done enough, but the fight referee awarded veteran Doyle (17-3-0) the win.

McShane is a late comer to the professional ranks and his record drops to 3-3-1.

McShane has indicated that he will seek a rematch with Doyle.
