NAOMH BRÍD MADE the journey to Pairc na nGael on Saturday to take on Letterkenny Gaels in the AllSportStore.com All-County Football League Division 3.

The visitors opened the scoring with a fine score from Gerard Gallagher in the second minute. Conor McBrearty responded a minute later with a free and Patrick Doherty put the Gaels into the lead for the first time after a fine pass from McBrearty.

One minute later McBrearty scored a fine individual goal after cutting inside his man and beating the Naomh Bríd keeper with a low left footed shot. Darragh Brogan then pegged Gaels back with a fine run and shot which landed between the posts.
Letterkenny Gaels kicked on in the following five minutes with three scores from play, first another a fine score from Doherty and then an excellent Mark Hunter effort from the wing after a good turnover in the Gaels defence.
McBrearty added another one a minute later to leave six points between the sides. Naomh Bríd then rallied and started running at the Gaels defence which paid dividends and saw Shane Walsh kicking three frees in as many minutes.

One minute later David Walsh made his presence felt after a fine score which was followed by a McBrearty free. Ross Gallagher then started and finished a fine move for Naomh Bríd which ended up in the back of Shane Graham’s net.
From the resultant kick out the ball found its way to Sean Mc Donagh who ran through the heart of the Naomh Bríd defence and finished excellently into the bottom corner. Two scores from Naomh Bríd brought the gap back to one. To finish the first half scoring McBrearty scored a fine long range score from play to leave two between the teams.

Naomh Bríd came out fast in the second half as Ross Gallagher got his second goal. McBrearty then got two points in three minutes, one from a free.
Shane Walsh quickly responded to this with a free of his own. The Letterkenny Gaels Goalkeeper Shane Graham then got in on the scoring act with two scores, one from a long range free, the other a ’45.
[adrotate group=”45″]Naomh Bríd yet again came fighting back with a third goal of their own through Shane Walsh to put them one ahead. A free from McBrearty levelled the scores with ten minutes to play. Goalkeeper Graham then added his third point from a free to give Gaels the lead.
Mark Hunter then ran through on goal after good approach play to kick the insurance score. With two minutes left on the clock Shane Walsh added a free to leave the minimum between the sides. Naomh Bríd tried as best they could to gain the vital equalising score but were unable to find it and Gaels won by the minimum to seal the two points.
