CONAL Sheridan was relieved to see Gaoth Dobhair defeat Sean MacCumhaills on Saturday evening in Ballybofey.
After tasting defeat against Glenswilly on match day one, it was must win for the men from the west – and they did just that.
Although MacCumhaills made a fist of it late in the day, the first-half spadework meant that Gaoth Dobhair prevailed.
“Sometimes you look for the performance first, but this was must win,” Sheridan told Donegal Sport Hub.
“We lost our shape and a bit of complacency crept in, but they’re things for us to work on.
“We were comfortable enough and we played good at times. We are a work in progress and we have a lot of players coming back so we’re only gelling.”
