Congratulations to former club player Karen Feeney who is part of the Scottish team who won the All-Ireland Semi Final in the Junior Championship when they overcame Derry at the weekend; with Karen scoring an impressive 1-02.
They now progress to the All-Ireland Final, on September 27th in Croke Park, where they will take on Louth! Best of luck to all involved!

Cloughaneely had a double victory on Sunday when both seniors and reserves beat Killybegs at home. Reserves won well with a final score of 1-11|0-03.
The senior game was a much closer affair, with Cloughaneely scoring the winning point in the last minute of the game; final score 1-06|0-08. It was Killybegs’, Christoper Murrin, who started proceedings off with a point from play in the 2nd minute, in what was a relatively low scoring 1st half.
Cloughaneely’s response came 10 mins later with a John Fitzgerald point which he quickly followed with a goal thanks to a superb ball in by Darren Ferry which Fitzgerald neatly tucked away.
Brendan McGuire was prominent and on target for the visitors and contributed two 1st half points, in the 19th and 24th minute; with Killybegs’ 4th and final 1st half point coming again from Murrin in the 27 min. Cloughaneely failed to register another score until the 30th min, when a Eugene McGuire point closed the 1st half.
Half Time Score: CCF: 1-02Â Killybegs 0-04
Killybegs again provided the opening to the 2nd half with a point from John Gallagher straight from throw-in. County player Hugh McFadden also got his name on the score sheet with a point in the 40th minute.
Cloughaneely struggled to put scores on the board throughout the 2nd half, and failed to register a 2nd half score until the 54 min when Jason McGee managed to slot one over the bar for the home side. This was quickly backed up by another point from Cloughaneely substitute Ciaran MCFadden and a Denis Boyle free. Evan Broderick and Brendan McGuire contributed to the Killybegs tally to leave the score all square in the final minute of play. County minor star Jason McGee, confidently sealed the 1 point win for the home-side with a 60th min point!
Full Time Score: CCF 1-06, Killybegs 0-08.

***Next Up***: Our Seniors now play in the Senior Championship relegation play-off against Ardara this Sunday in Glenswilly at 1:00pm.
***Parish League***
The club will be running a Parish League on Friday evenings, beginning September 18th for U-9’s and U-11’s at 6:00 pm. It will run for approximately 5-6 weeks! The U-9 category is for children born in 2006/2007/2008 and the U-11 for children born in 2004/2005. We’d encourage as many of the kids as possible to attend as it’s a great way to help develop their skills as well as mixing with other children from neighbouring schools within the parish!
***Thanks!***
Many thanks to McClafferty’s Gortahork who sponsored a meal for our minor team after the county semi-final last week! Their continuous support for the club is much appreciated!
***U-13’s***
Our U-13’s were unfortunate to be defeated in their first game of the season, when they played St. Michaels’s at home last Sunday. Their next game is away to St. Eunan’s on Friday evening at 6:00 PM.
***Congratulations****
Many congratulations to senior player Shaun ‘Keg’ McGuire and Martina Brogan on their wedding at the weekend. A great day was had by all!! We wish you all the very best for the future!
***Good luck***
The club would like to congratulate Charlie McGeever on guiding the Tipperary Minors to an All-Ireland Football final! Charlie is originally from Derryconnor and is a former Cloughaneely player! We would like to wish him and the team all the best in the final!
