CHARLIE White from Carrigans was part of the Club NI Under-14s who won the SimplyFruit Club NI International Cup last weekend.
The inaugural International Cup saw Club NI win their three games against Glasgow Rangers, Everton and a team from the French Football Federation’s Centre of Excellence in Toulouse.
White, a student at St Eunan’s College in Letterkenny, plays at centre-back with the Maiden City Soccer Academy and was selected to play in the side managed by former Finn Harps full-back Pascal Vaudequin, now a Performance Coach with the IFA.

The games in the International Cup were held at the Greenmount Centre in Antrim.
After overcoming the FFF side on penalties, they defeated Rangers 1-0 and Everton 3-1.
White played a key role in the three games.
Against FFF, the game finished 0-0 and Club NI took a 4-2 win on penalties.
They defeated Rangers 1-0 thanks to a Chris McKee goal.
“Rangers needed to respond quickly and they did up the pressure a little, but Charlie White looked impossible to get past in the heart of the Club NI defence,” read the IFA report on the game.
“He and his teammates were really making it difficult for the Scottish boys to make a breakthrough.”
A win over Everton and they were champions – and they did just that as goals by Ben Wylie, Jess Carson and George Tipton gave them a 3-1 victory to secure the prize.
White is a son of Lee and Ciara White from Carrigans and started off his career at under-8 level with Kildrum Tigers. His grandfather, Lexie Ross, is a former long-serving Chairman of the Tigers.
