CARNDONAGH MAN Fergal Doherty was in Croke Park last night to pick up an award from the Camogie Association for his work in the sport.
Doherty was up for the Donegal Camogie Volunteer of the Year Award.
He attended the 2016 Referees, Volunteer and Media Awards Dinner at Croke Park.
Doherty has had a near life-long devotion to the promotion of camogie in schools and in the Carndonagh club.
Doherty goes to the local primary schools and voluntarily coaches the children, while he has coached the under-8s at Carndonagh for over 15 years now.

He was a part of the Donegal Under-16 and Donegal Senior county side’s backroom team and he coached Carndonagh to two senior county titles.
Doherty played hurling himself while he has also managed the Carndonagh senior ladies team.
