CARNDONAGH Community School’s semi-final hoodoo continued yesterday in Sligo when Sammy Bogan’s team lost out to Sacred Heart School from Westport in the Bank of Ireland FAI Schools Senior Girls National Cup semi-final.
Carndonagh, who had beaten Scoil Mhuire from Buncrana in last week’s Ulster final, were determined to get over a barrier that has been halting them for some time.
However, they missed out following a 2-1 defeat to Sacred Heart.
A last-gasp winner by Anne Sheridan, who struck with extra time looming, broke Carn hearts. Jenny Chambers had equalised right after Tara O’Connor netted the opener for the Carn girls.
