Carndonagh boxer to box for Ireland in Canada

CARNDONAGH BOXER Labhaoise Clarke has been selected as part of an Irish team that will take part in the Brampton Cup in Canada next month.

The seven-time Irish champion has been selected for duty by coach Liam Brereton.

The Brampton Cup takes place from February 5-7 at the Bramalea Boxing Club in Ontario.

16 boxers will compete, including seven-time Irish champion Clarke. The bantamweight competed at the European Championships in 2015 and just missed out on a bronze medal.

In the quarter-final in Keszethely, Ulabzsislave from Belarus got the decision and left Clarke gutted.
