CARL MCHUGH’S Plymouth Argyle continued their good start to the season with a 2-1 win at Wycombe Wanderers this afternoon.
The Lettermacaward native played in central midfield as a Reuben Reid and Jake Jervis were on the mark which meant that Plymouth inflicted a first defeat of the season on today’s opponents.
Plymouth are now in second place in the standings in the Sky Bet League Two, just a point behind Leyton Orient, while Wycombe are now fourth.
Meanwhile, Dale Gorman’s Stevenage are in 16th place following a 2-2 draw against York City. The former Letterkenny Rovers midfielder was an unused substitute. Brett Williams of Stevenage saw a late penalty saved by Scott Flinders.
Stephen McLaughlin from Doagh Island was a 60th minute substitute for Southend United in their 1-0 win over Shrewsbury Town, with Nathaniel Knight-Percival scoring the only goal. Southend are 20th in League One.
