CARL MCHUGH EARNED the praise of his manager following Plymouth Argyle’s 2-1 win over Crawley Town yesterday.
The Lettermacaward native had missed the previous two outings with a hamstring injury but was back in midfield as an 89th minute winner from Hiram Boateng sent Plymouth to the top of the League Two table.
“Carl does a key job for us,” Plymouth manager Derek Adams told The Plymouth Herald. “He wins a lot in the air, breaks up play and has been magnificent for us playing in that position this season.”
McHugh picked up a 45th minute yellow card yesterday and seeing it was his fifth of the season, it means the former Bradford City and Reading player will miss the Johnstone’s Paints Trophy fixture against Exeter City on Tuesday.
