ON WHAT WAS Â a busy week on all fronts, the Anthony Conaghan Cars Player of the Week poll saw almost 1,000 votes cast.
The Donegal’s Under-16’s, hurlers and ladies all had a nomination but in the end, the award goes to Kelan Collier, who helped St Eunan’s to some silverware following their win over their neighbours from Termon.
Just over three weeks beforehand, St Eunan’s (pictured above by Geraldine Diver) had lost the Northern Regional Board Under-14 Division 1 final to Termon in Milford. But when the sides met again on Friday at Convoy it was the Letterkenny side who came out on top on 3-11 to 2-8 scoreline. Collier scored two first half points and slotted home a vital goal after the break.
Seeing we have also teamed up with Murphy’s Gloves, there’s something on offer for our weekly winner so well done to Kelan.
He won the award by picking up 246 votes, ahead of Joey Cullen of Milford and Steven McElwaine from Termon.
Here’s the final results:
- Kelan Collier (St Eunan’s Under-14s) (25%, 246 Votes)
- Joey Cullen (Milford) (22%, 216 Votes)
- Steve McElwaine (Termon) (13%, 125 Votes)
