ST JOHNSTON man Brett McGinty is heading to the Commonwealth Youth Games next week and the Oakleaf ABC boxer is looking for your help.
The 16-year-old qualifies for the Games as he is Derry-born.
The Games are being held in Apia, the capital city of Samoa, and McGinty, a six-time Irish champion, has been selected as part of a five-man team that also includes Stephen McKenna (Old School), James McGivern (St. George’s), Tiernan Bradley (Sacred Heart, Omagh) and Aidan Walsh (Holy Family).
McGinty, who fights at 69kgs, was in Russia for a training camp last month and is now ready to head for training in Australia before moving onto the Games in Samoa.
The Deele College, Raphoe student is seeking sponsorship to aid with his travels.
