NAKITA Burke set a new course record at tonight’s Ballyare 10k.
Burke finished fifth overall and was the lead female in 34 minutes and 28 seconds.
That time is a new record for a female over the course.
The Letterkenny AC woman has been in good form, taking an impressive bronze medal at the Irish Senior Championships.
There, in the women’s 5000m final, she set a new PB PB of 16:26.83, shaving almost eight seconds off her previous best time over the distance.
The Ballyare 10k was won by Mark McPaul in 32:52 with Ciaran Doherty second and Charlie O’Donnell third.
