Magh Ene College Bundoran overcame a stubborn Bailieboro Community College in Irvinestown to advance to a quarter final meeting with Dean Maguire College Carrickmore next week.
Magh Ene College 1 – 14
Bailieboro Community College 0 – 11
The south Donegal school who had been defeated by Colaiste Ailigh Letterkenny in the Donegal County final started strongly and led by three points to one point after 15 minutes with Cian McEniff, Luke Towey and Niall Carr all finding the range.
The Cavan outfit upped their workrate and soon levelled from the boot of Jordan McCabe. Two long range frees from Mc Eniff and Oran Gallagher edged the Bundoran school back in front before a brace from the impressive Matthew Traynor evened matters up.
Both teams split the posts once more to go in at halftime all square at 0-6 each.

A sweeping Magh Ene move at the beginning of the second half saw Carr blast over from close range before Philip Crossan again replied for the Cavan boys.
Both teams once again exchanged points from Carr and Mc Cabe to leave the game level at 0-8 apiece on 40 minutes. Then a brilliantly taken individual goal from Towey was soon followed by two further overs from McEniff and Leitrim county minors Cillian McGloin to stretch the Donegal Schools lead out to five points.
The final 10 minutes were played at a frantic pace with the Bailieboro lads on top in the possession stakes but their obsession in trying to find that goal they needed eventually became their downfall.
