BUNCRANA NATIVE Mark Timlin has returned to Derry City, it was confirmed this morning.
The 22-year-old winger is back at Derry having spent the 2016 season at St Patrick’s Athletic.
Timlin was unveiled this morning at the Foyle Arena. He has signed a one-year contract at Derry with the option of a second year.
Kenny Shiels’ Candystripes will play in the Europa League next season.
Timlin played two seasons with Derry, in 2014 and in 2015. In the latter of those campaigns he netted 11 goals and was Derry’s top goalscorer before being snapped up by Pat’s boss Liam Buckley.
Timlin played at youth level for Buncrana Hearts and moved to Ipswich Town.
An Under-21 international with the Republic of Ireland, Timlin’s services were secured by then Derry manager Roddy Collins in 2014 after he left Ipswich.
