TWO Buncrana men raised almost €20,000 in a gruelling June Bank Holiday challenge.
Oisin O’Flaherty and Conor Mulkerns spent last Sunday enduring a punishing ‘Iron Man on the Ergs’ challenge at O’Flaherty Fitness and Performance.
Together they each pushed themselves through a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) ski, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bicycle ride and a marathon 26.22-mile (42.20 km) row – all on stationary machines in the gym.
It was all in the name of charity, with the punishing challenge to raise money for iCare and Whiteoaks.
And what a success it proved to be as their efforts took in a total of €19,382.
Writing on Twitter, Oisin said: “Thanks to everybody who donated and helped along the way. It’s a day I don’t think I’ll forgot any time soon!”
